Houston, TX - (12/11/2014) Dean's Professional Services Announces New  ACA (Affordable Care Act) Compliant Health Benefits Plan for DPS Employees. Eligibility for the New DPS Health Benefits Program will be for those team members  who have completed 60 days of employment with an average of 30 hours per week.

The new health benefits plan includes 2 options with coverage including wellness, preventive,  limited hospital and life insurance benefits. In addition optional benefits can be purchased to cover an upgraded hospital benefit, disability income, dental insurance and optional group term life insurance. The plan options cover 64 preventive services required per the government list of Preventive and Wellness Benefits.

As outlined under the healthcare law, ACA, individuals must coverage by January 1, 2014, or pay a penalty tax. Employees can prevent being taxed the "individual mandate" penalty tax for the 2015 tax year by purchasing either plan option provided by DPS.

The penalty in the 2014 tax year is $94 per adult, $47.50 per child up to 1% of household income. For the year 2015, the penalty increases to $325 per adult, $162.50 per child up to 2% of household income, whichever is greater. The penalties increase again in 2016.
